Some tips for organizing documents
Favorities
You can mark your favorites by clicking the star icon in the main panel. These references can then be easily found by choosing the "favorites" folder.
Use search to retrieve references
Use the search box in the upper right corner to search across the full-text of your library. You can also use the dropdown menu to narrow your search to a specific field.
Please be noticed that Mendeley Desktop’s search tool is context-specific. If you’re viewing a particular folder Mendeley will only search items within that folder. You can use this to locate specific resources quickly. Please make sure that "All Documents" is selected if you want to search the entire library.
Adding "Notes"
The search function allows you to search you own "Notes". You can add you own annotations in the "Notes" tab in the right panel to make the referneces easier to find.
Remove duplicates
You can remove duplicates by selecting "Check for Duplicates" under the "Tools" menu.
Globally edit author names to keep them consistent
Select "Filter by authors" in the left panel to display all the authors, then drag the incorrect name over to the correct name. You can update all the other tags in the same way.
